Mind-Body Classes
Arukah’s Mind-Body Therapies are backed by a firm evidence base and grounded in anatomy, physiology, and neuroscience. Our programs provide for a significant reduction in anxiety, daily stress, depression and substance use issues. The Mind-Body Therapies Program allow for children, teens, adults, seniors, and pre/postnatal populations to come and participate in a relaxing atmosphere and teaching that meets any level. We make our classes accessible and affordable for all.
CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
BEGINNERS YOGA WORKSHOP
with Ashley
A 5 week series that breaks down the foundations of a yoga class to help empower beginners to fit the practice to their lives. Clients will develop body awareness, learn basic postures, focus on healthy alignment, and practice coordinating the breath & movement. Emphasis is placed on the use of props for adaptability of the postures. Each session is designed to build on top of the last with the last session putting it all in flow. Pre-registration is closed.

HOT YOGA
with Belinda & Ashley
Hot yoga transforms your body from the inside out. It’s a practice in a hot room (80-105 degrees) with elevated humidity, focusing on linking breath with poses. We will practice Sun salutations, balancing, and inversions. The instructor offers modifications, so all levels are welcome. Hot yoga classes are designed to be challenging. Students have the option to increase or reduce their intensity throughout the class. Students are encouraged to take a rest and water whenever needed. Everything we do in yoga is optional and you are encouraged to make the practice your own.
WHAT TO BRING: Water, towel, wear moisture wicking fitted workout clothes, Be prepared to work hard & sweat, a smile, & open mind.
FIRST CLASS PREP: Fuel your body by eating a light meal 2 to 3 hours before class, including adequate hydration.

POWER FLOW

Heat-building approach to Vinyasa style flow, linking conscious breath with a vigorous flow. Classes elevate your heart rate and build strength, flexibility and concentration while cleansing the body and calming the mind.

YOGA FOR RECOVERY
with Belinda and Courtney
Open to anyone and everyone dealing with their own addictive behavior or affected by the addictive behavior of others. This is a open and inclusive group and all recovery programs are welcome. Informed by the latest research in neuroscience and trauma healing, Yoga for recovery combines the somatic approach of yoga with the cognitive approach of the 12-Step recovery model. Yoga for Recovery is not a replacement for 12-Step meetings, a sponsor, or any other part of a recovery program, it is an adjunct providing another helpful tool to more fully address the physical, mental and spiritual dis-ease of addiction.

LIGHTEN UP DANCE
with COURTNEY
Join the fun with this heart pumping, sweat inducing dance session that will instantly boost your mood!
All levels are welcome. Each “dance” will be broken down into easy to learn steps so no one feels left behind. We will cover lots of styles of dance and music. You will leave feeling uplifted and joyful!

SUPER POWER
with Ashley
A dynamic, fast-paced power flow structured similarly to the Ashtanga series. Class consists of sun salutations A and B and a series of standing, balancing, seated poses and twists and bends. Lots of opportunities for hand balances throughout. Developed by Larry Schultz and named by Bob Weir because “Rocket: it gets you there faster”.

PRE-KINDERGARTEN
with ASHLEY
Fun class for 3-5 year olds that teaches poses and social mindfulness through engaging yoga stories.
Adults must accompany children.
THU 4:30-5:15 PM
1ST-4TH GRADE
with COURTNEY
In this class we will focus on whole core strength through dynamic movement and find a balance and strength, stability and flexibility. Weights are optional.
