Mind-Body Classes

Arukah’s Mind-Body Therapies are backed by a firm evidence base and grounded in anatomy, physiology, and neuroscience. Our programs provide for a significant reduction in anxiety, daily stress, depression and substance use issues. The Mind-Body Therapies Program allow for children, teens, adults, seniors, and pre/postnatal populations to come and participate in a relaxing atmosphere and teaching that meets any level. We make our classes accessible and affordable for all.

WORKSHOPS

Beginner Yoga June Workshop

Saturday, June 15, 2024 | 5:30-7:30 p.m.

A beginner series that breaks down the foundations of a yoga class to help empower beginners to fit the practice to their lives. Clients will develop body awareness, learn basic postures, focus on healthy alignment, and practice coordinating the breath & movement. Emphasis is placed on the use of props for adaptability of the postures.

Summer Solstice Sunset Yoga & Sound Bath

Thursday, June 20, 2024 | 7:30-9:00 P.M.

Close out 2024’s longest day, feeling refreshed in your body, restored in your mind and reconnected to nature. We’re celebrating International Yoga Day with an outdoor sunset Yoga flow & Sound bath. Class will be held at the peaceful and serene Warnecke Woods, 41 1835 North Ave, Princeton, IL. Plan for a 45 minute yoga flow for ALL levels, followed by a 20 minute sound bath. Class begins at 7:30p. Try to arrive 10-15 min early. Some mats will be provided but recommend bringing your own in addition to chairs or any props that provide the most comfort for the sound bath mediation. There will be a bathroom onsite. Pre-registration is recommended.

The 21 Mind Body Challenge is a two-part integrated approach to overall wellness.

First, we’ve compiled a list of daily practices that are scientifically proven to improve overall mental and physical well-being.

SLEEP. SUNLIGHT. MOVEMENT. NUTRITION. MEDITATION. CONNECTION. 

Second, develop a daily system that includes these 6 daily objectives and repeat the system for 21 days.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

SUNRISE YOGA

MOTIVATING + ENERGIZING + INTENTIONAL

Class begins with positive intention. Warm up with energizing breath work and joint loosening movement andstretching. Work up a sweat with an active flow for all levels. Cool down with a centering meditation. You will feel energized and present for the rest of the day. No coffee necessary!

WEDNESDAYS 5:15-6:15AM

MORNING YOGA

FOCUSED + ENERGETIC + REFRESHING VINYASA FLOW

Our morning classes get your day started on the right foot. Breathwork and intention setting ground your body and mind. Joint loosening movements transition into an energizing flow incorporating the fundamentals and principles of vinyasa yoga. WE close out with a guided meditation using researched back techniques including yoga nidra, progressive muscle relaxation, mindfulness, or sound therapy.

EVENING FLOW

CENTERED + HEART PUMPING + RESTORING VINYASA FLOW

The evening class is just what you need to close out the day. You slow down the pace of the day with a grounding practice. Uplifting breathwork moves you into a vinyasa flow that turns your stress into sweat. Cool down with meditative + restorative flow topped off with a head, neck and shoulders massage that leave you feeling restored.

YOGA FOR RECOVERY

Open to anyone and everyone dealing with their own addictive behavior or affected by the addictive behavior of others. This is a open and inclusive group and all recovery programs are welcome. Informed by the latest research in neuroscience and trauma healing, Yoga for recovery combines the somatic approach of yoga with the cognitive approach of the 12-Step recovery model. Yoga for Recovery is not a replacement for 12-Step meetings, a sponsor, or any other part of a recovery program, it is an adjunct providing another helpful tool to more fully address the physical, mental and spiritual disease of addiction.

COMMUNAL + DYNAMIC + MINDFUL

Begins with a mindful connection to nature and community. Warm up in the fresh air with breath-work and mobility movement. Challenge yourself through an active and dynamic flow for all levels. Cool down with a grounding mediation. Leave your mat feeling revitalized, connected to nature and the community! Donations accepted.
