Amber Crawford
RECOVERY SUPPORT SPECIALIST
Amber graduated from ISU with a B.S. in Psychology and sociology. She was part of the National Honor Society and a research assistant in the study of psycholinguistics. Most of Ambers prior work experience has been in either service or warehouse roles. She is excited to finally be using her degree after 13 years. Amber has 40 years of lived experience. She has dealt with addiction, abuse, neglect and suicide in her life as well as both of her parents and siblings. Amber has been in recovery for 10 years despite a short, unrelated fallback a few years ago. She feels a deep need to help others in both recovery and mental health. This has become her purpose in life and she looks forward to this opportunity at Arukah in reaching those goals.
Amber has 2 daughters. They are all she has left in this world at the moment. She treasures every moment she gets to spend with them. They enjoy watching movies, coloring, bike-riding and skating. She would love further her education and either earn a Masters in social work or obtain certification in drug and alcohol counseling.
