Lori Zeman

Behavioral Health Receptionist

Lori attended Sauk Valley Community College with the intention of becoming a teacher. Sometimes life happens and the path changes! Just before COVID hit, Lori formed a non-profit, with a phenomenal board of directors and generous volunteers, and opened a non-profit thrift store in Walnut. Sales benefitted the community through donations to schools, parks, high school Scholastics team, music and theater programs, provided college scholarships as well as donations to other community programs such as Freedom House, Tri-County Opportunity Council and the Walnut Fire Department. This experience provided a view of the needs in the community, particularly with youth and the impact of depression, anxiety, bullying, social pressures and gender identity. After this incredible experience she has looked to work with various age groups, whether it be doing enriching activities, helping with community events or being the face and the voice that greets people and, ideally, sets them at ease. She enjoys using her artistic abilities to paint murals with her adult children, finds music especially therapeutic and adores exploring with her grandson, most recently visiting Lake Superior.
