Christopher Ray
Mental Health Crisis Worker
I am a trauma-informed mental health professional with lived recovery experience and a passion for supporting individuals navigating substance use, trauma, mental health concerns, and life transitions.
With over seven years in recovery, I bring both personal insight and professional understanding to the work I do.
My journey has strengthened my belief that healing is possible and that every person deserves compassionate, nonjudgmental support. I attended Grand Canyon University where I received my Bachelor’s in Psychology in 2024 while making the President’s List, and I am currently in the final year of my master’s program.
My professional background includes experience as a substance use counselor and care coordinator, where I have provided compassionate, client-centered care to diverse populations. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I am especially committed to providing affirming, inclusive care that honors each client’s identity and lived experience. My therapeutic approach is rooted in trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, and somatic practices. Motivational interviewing is a favorite modality of mine because it helps clients connect with their own strengths, autonomy, and readiness for change. I also value somatic care as an important part of healing, recognizing the deep connection between the mind and body.
Outside of my professional and academic work, I enjoy running to stay healthy, grounded, and connected to my own wellness. I am passionate about walking alongside others as they move toward healing, resilience, and lasting transformation.
